Non-Emergency

101 is a new non-emergency 24-hour number that is now available in the following areas: Wales, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, London, Surrey, Essex, Sussex, Hertfordshire and Sheffield. It will be available across the rest of England during 2011. It is provided by the police and local council to deal with community safety issues, non-emergency crime, policing and anti-social behaviour.

You can call 101 for:

  • Vandalism, graffiti and other deliberate damage to property
  • Noisy neighbours
  • Threatening and abusive behaviour
  • Abandoned vehicles
  • Rubbish and litter, including fly tipping
  • Drunk or rowdy behaviour in public places
  • Drug-related anti-social behaviour
  • Problems with street lighting

Calls to the 101 service will be charged at a fixed rate of 15p per call, whether from landlines or mobiles.
