116XXX numbers are for access to helplines for services of social importance across the European Union.

In the UK the follwing numbers have been allocated:

• 116000 - Missing people helpline run by the charity Missing People
• 116111 - Child helpline run by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC)
• 116123 - Emotional support helpline run by the Samaritans charity

Calls to the 116XXX services are free from landlines and mobile phones.
